City Of
P
equot
Lakes- --
April 23, 2014
Gorton Properties, LLC
PO Box 29
Pequot Lakes, MN 56472
RE: City of Pequot Lakes
Potential City Code Violation
4566 Schmidt Way
PIN: 291130040070009
Dear Sir:
Chief Klang reported that he visited you yesterday and that you seem reluctant to
remove the debris and exterior storage from the above captioned property. As opposed
to formally citing you for a violation of the City Code,we would like the opportunity to
work with you to correct the situation. We are requesting that by no later than
May 139 2014 you remove all debris and store all equipment within a
building.
Failure to comply with the City Code by May 13. 2014 will prompt us to take more
aggressive action. This would likely include administrative fines for each day the
violation continues, civil action to obtain a court order directing you to comply with the
City Code and could potentially include criminal action. You will be responsible to
reimburse the City for any expenses incurred in remedying this violation.
This would include any consultant fees or other professional services that
City Staff determines is necessary, including but not limited to the City
Planner, the City Engineer or the City Attorney.
Having debris and equipment stored outside is not only an eyesore to the rest of the
community, it is a health and safety issue that we take very seriously. Please understand
our seriousness and commitment to uphold the City Code.
4638 COUNTY Row 11 •PEQuoT i -\KEs,MN 56472• (218) 568-5222 • FAX: (218) 568-5860•www.pequodakes-mn.gov
