DRAFT- 816114 <br /> ere are various initiatives that the City can undertake to improve the value of Trailside Park. Those include the <br /> ` 'Mlowing: <br /> 1. Remove the underutilized parking lot located at the north end of the park. The area should be converted into a <br /> "usable area"by planting grass and other vegetation. <br /> 2. At the north end of the park, trees have been planted between the trail and the diagonal parking area on <br /> Government Drive. These trees should be allowed to mature so there is a perceived barrier between the trail <br /> and the street. Some sightlines should remain open between the park and Government Drive businesses so <br /> trail users can clearly see what Pequot Lakes has to offer. <br /> 3. Work with the Park Commission to determine a suitable location for a playground. Two areas that have been <br /> identified as possible locations are northeast of the picnic shelter and west of the picnic shelter. <br /> Possible locations for a playground: <br /> IV <br /> 5 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br />
