aquatic vegetation (principally reeds and bulrushes) will need to be removed in the vicinity of"System Three." Conditions to Consider: i. Proper permits shall be obtained from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources before any aquatic vegetation is removed. Beach Areas: The applicant has indicated the existing beach area for the resort is 140 feet wide. The applicant is proposing to increase the width of the existing beach (located on the southwest side of the property)by 35 feet. A second beach area is proposed on the east side of the point. The proposed beach area is approximately 150 feet wide and is located immediately south of"Dock System #2." The applicant has indicated that some aquatic vegetation will need to be removed for the creation/expansion of the beach areas. Staff is awaiting feedback from the DNR regarding the proposed beach areas. Conditions to Consider: i. A plan acceptable to the Planning Commission shall be submitted detailing the location,width,length and depth of the proposed beaches. 2. The applicant shall demonstrate with professional grading and drainage plan how untreated runoff will be prevented from entering the lake via the proposed beach `. areas. Grading in the vicinity of the beach areas should include the use of berms, swales and natural vegetation near the beach areas. 3. A permit shall be obtained, if necessary, from the DNR for the removal of any aquatic vegetation. Relocation of Boat Rama The applicant is proposing to relocate the existing boat ramp to the north side of the existing beach and swimming area. The proposed location is safer as truck/boat traffic would not impede on the swimming/beach area. Relocation of the ramp will require removal of approximately io feet of aquatic vegetation on the north side of the beach to allow for installation of the boat launch. Staff is awaiting feedback from the DNR regarding the relocation of the boat ramp. Roadway in Shore Impact Zone: Condition number 12 of the existing CUP states, "The road in the bluff and shoreline setback shall be removed and re-vegetated. An 8-foot wide walking trail may replace the road; however, all automobile traffic shall be banned. The walking trail shall be constructed with pervious materials."
