Mayo Lake Nature Preserve Mike Loven informed the commissioners that the perimeter signs have been put in at Mayo Lake Nature Preserve. He noted that the proposed parking lot has been approved by Loon Lake Township and will be sent to the Minnesota Land Trust for approval. 6. Other Business Sibley Lake Park Mayor Adams stated she felt it was important to bury the overhead wires at Sibley Lake Park and to enlarge the street. She noted that it is important to make these improvements if we expect people to use the park. Further discussion was held by the Park Commissioners relating to the improvements. COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD MOVED TO INCLUDE FUNDING IN THE 2014 BUDGET FOR BURYING THE OVERHEAD ELECTRIC LINES AND EXPANDING THE STREET. COMMISSIONER GIBBONS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. Splash Park Discussion was held regarding the building of a splash park. The Commission discussed funding for the park. The Commission felt that a splash park is an idea they would like to pursue. They also noted that location and funding were both issues that would have to be considered. The Mayor noted that fundraising could be done by a private group but not by the City. COMMISSIONER GIBBONS MOVED TO ENDORSE THE IDEA OF A GROUP OF PEOPLE TO PROMOTE A FUNDRAISING PROJECT FOR THE BUILDING OF A SPLASH PARK. COMMISSIONER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 4. Sibley Lake Park — Doq Park The Commission moved its location to Sibley Lake Park. Sheridan Wilson was present. Sheridan suggested a size and location for the dog park. She explained that her 4-H Club is taking on the project and hopes to raise the money to construct the fenced-in area for the dogs. Discussion was held regarding the height of the fence. It was decided on a 5' fence. Sheridan will be checking on the cost for the fencing materials installation costs for the fence. 7. Adiournment
