Minutes of the Pequot Lakes Library Board of Directors' Meeting Of Tuesday, June 18, 2013 Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Board members present:John Longnecker, Lavone Sullivan, Renee Moodie, Claire Nagel Board members absent: Dave Anderson, Sam Hennies and Jean Clark Guests: Harry Olson and liaison to City Council Jerry Akerson Minutes of the May meeting were accepted by Lavone and seconded by Renee. All ayes. Reports: • David Anderson was absent and gave no treasurer's report. • Publicity: All is going well. Reminder from Claire to let her know if something comes up that needs publicizing. • President's report: John reported on a financial meeting coming up with Kitchigami Library System on Thursday, June 21. Crosslake Library will have a representative and Nancy Adams will represent Pequot Lakes Library. • Jean Clark was not present to give a report on public programs. Claire said that there will be a Pequot Library-sponsored program on July 20 at 2 p.m. That will be Candace Simar and her sister Angela Foster talking about their co-authored book "Farm Girls." New business: • Parade: Harry Olson will set up our library float in the morning of July 4. Everyone agreed that there should be a float. Thanks to Harry. • Summer book sale is Friday, July 5, 8-4 and Saturday, July 6, 8-1. Set up will be Wednesday afternoon and evening, July 3. John will look into getting young strong people from churches, scout groups to help. • The popcorn wagon is set up by the music gazebo for Concert in the Park. � An anonymous donor has given us the money to start a 13-week subscription to The Brainerd Dispatch. Claire will take care of signing up for it. Projects needing board action: • Because we badly need a new computer at the main checkout desk (the one in use now we've had for nine years and it was a used computer to start with), we have gotten a bid from Roman Siltman to provide us with a new computer for $400. A motion was made by John and seconded by Lavone to purchase the computer. All ayes. • A motion was made by John and seconded by Renee to authorize payment for the new shelving made and installed by Ron Nelson in the amount of $1350. All ayes.
