Minutes of the Pequot Lakes Library Board of Directors' Meeting <br />Of Tuesday, June 18, 2013 <br />Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />Board members present:John Longnecker, Lavone Sullivan, Renee Moodie, Claire Nagel <br />Board members absent: Dave Anderson, Sam Hennies and Jean Clark <br />Guests: Harry Olson and liaison to City Council Jerry Akerson <br />Minutes of the May meeting were accepted by Lavone and seconded by Renee. All ayes. <br />Reports: <br />• David Anderson was absent and gave no treasurer's report. <br />• Publicity: All is going well. Reminder from Claire to let her know if <br />something comes up that needs publicizing. <br />• President's report: John reported on a financial meeting coming up with <br />Kitchigami Library System on Thursday, June 21. Crosslake Library will <br />have a representative and Nancy Adams will represent Pequot Lakes <br />Library. <br />• Jean Clark was not present to give a report on public programs. Claire said <br />that there will be a Pequot Library-sponsored program on July 20 at 2 p.m. <br />That will be Candace Simar and her sister Angela Foster talking about <br />their co-authored book "Farm Girls." <br />New business: <br />• Parade: Harry Olson will set up our library float in the morning of July 4. <br />Everyone agreed that there should be a float. Thanks to Harry. <br />• Summer book sale is Friday, July 5, 8-4 and Saturday, July 6, 8-1. Set up <br />will be Wednesday afternoon and evening, July 3. John will look into <br />getting young strong people from churches, scout groups to help. <br />• The popcorn wagon is set up by the music gazebo for Concert in the Park. <br />� An anonymous donor has given us the money to start a 13-week <br />subscription to The Brainerd Dispatch. Claire will take care of signing up <br />for it. <br />Projects needing board action: <br />• Because we badly need a new computer at the main checkout desk (the <br />one in use now we've had for nine years and it was a used computer to <br />start with), we have gotten a bid from Roman Siltman to provide us with a <br />new computer for $400. A motion was made by John and seconded by <br />Lavone to purchase the computer. All ayes. <br />• A motion was made by John and seconded by Renee to authorize payment <br />for the new shelving made and installed by Ron Nelson in the amount of <br />$1350. All ayes. <br />
