Old business:
We have gotten a bid from Warren Anderson to take out the front doors by
the computers and in the children's room and finish the walls where the
doors were removed. Renee asked about safety if the two doors are
removed, but we would still have six doors in the building so that is not an
issue. Warren Anderson bid $1369.66 to do the job. A motion by John,
seconded by Lavone to authorize Warren Anderson to do the work. All
ayes.
We got two bids for the parking lot in front of the library, one from
Anderson Bros. for $12,784.66 and one from Tri-City for $11,760. A
motion was made by John and seconded by Renee to accept Tri-City's
bed. In discussion, Lavone said that she and Jean Clark had earlier agreed
that Tri-City does not do as quality wark as Anderson Bros. That A.B.
does excellent work, stands behind their work and is more professional.
However, other board members had no opinion and finally, the lower bid
of Tri-City won with the vote of 3 ayes and 1 nay.
The Kids' Summer Reading Program is going very well.
The Brat and Dog Sale at SuperValu is going on the weekend after the 4tn
on Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13 from 11-4.
