<br /> MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 28,2105 MEETING
<br /> The quarterly meeting of the PLAFB was called to order by Chairman Peterson. Present at meeting
<br /> were Hart, Benson, Mayor Sjoblad, Dubay,Sodd, Mayor Lillehei,Administrator Rudberg,Chief
<br /> Nelson, Peterson,and Bartels.The minutes of the last meeting were not read.
<br /> The third quarter fire call report totaled 19 calls. By types,there were 11 good intent calls, 3 mutual
<br /> aid structure,2 motor vehicle accident termed assist police,1 lost child search,1 natural gas leak,
<br /> and 1 medical assist for setting up a landing zone. By location,there were 11 to City of Breezy Point,
<br /> 3 to Pequotl Lakes,2 to Nisswa, 1 to City of Jenkins,1 to Mission Township,and 1 to Brainerd .Bills
<br /> sent totaled$250.00. Last year during this time period there were 12 calls.
<br /> The quarter training report totaled 19 hours. By types,there were 8 hours of live structure burn,5
<br /> hours auto extrication,3 hours ladder operation&elevated rescue,and 3 hours hose testing.
<br /> The financial report was discussed.Travel,conferences,and schools was 285%over budget due to
<br /> several more training classes offers this year such as first responder,arson,and fire administration
<br /> classes.The department has received$7884.00 for training cost reimbursements so far this year
<br /> which helps lower the training cost impact.Sodd motioned to approve the report,second by
<br /> Rudberg, motion passed.
<br /> The third quarter fire operation and personnel report includes the following.We were denied the
<br /> 2015 matching DNR grant,Tasha Carlson retired with just over 10 years of service, Pequot Police
<br /> purchased a new vehicle that may be used for fire call response, Kevin&Jacob quit the Explorer
<br /> program,we sent a pumper truck to a state-wide mutual aid call to a coal storage area fire at the
<br /> Becker power plant,&we applied for a$3000.00 Ag-star grant to help fund a thermal imaging
<br /> camera purchase.We plan to purchase a new smaller thermal imaging camera this year using
<br /> donation letter money.We plan to refurbish our present newer camera for$3000.00.Our other
<br /> older thermal image camera is obsolete and we will use it until it fails.
<br /> Our newly acquired Utility 1 truck continues to serve us well.We have added a trailer hitch to it so
<br /> we can pull our equipment trailer, if needed.
<br /> The Explorer program has five members now.They are Kenzie,Addisioune, Brady,Jacob,and
<br /> Tristin.Turnout gear for them has been ordered and should be here soon.Their first official meeting
<br /> will be soon.
<br /> We received$9240.00 to date from our donation request letter sent to property owners.
<br /> Fire Prevention for 2015 began with 15 members going to Eagle View Elementary School to speak to
<br /> classes from kindergarten thru second grade.Our open house was held Wednesday,October 7th
<br /> from 4 to 7 pm. Hot dogs,chips, beverage,cookies,and popcorn were served. Demonstrations were
<br /> a kitchen range fire and the safety house.A bouncey house was also available.Over 400 bags of fire
<br /> prevention materials and plastic fire helmets were given to kids attending the open house.Three
<br /> hundred hot dogs were served.The program was a huge success.
