Mock OSHA Inspection:
The final item from the July 8, 2014 Inspection needs to be resolved—Police Department
Shop: No regularly documented monthly inspections of fire extinguishers- Sgt. Turcotte
will notify the Officers to include in their notes that they inspected the fire extinguishers.
Tom Nelson asked about the two fire extinguishers located on posts in the middle of the
fire area(between Water Department and Fire Department). These would be used for
building fires and are not on the Monthly Inspection Sheet. Dawn Bittner will follow-up
with Mike Loven.
3. Safety Manuals:
Dawn Bittner noted all of the safety manuals have been updated and are located on the X-
Drive.
4. LMC Safety Committee Toolkit:
Dawn Bittner presented the written Toolkit provided by the LMC. She has reviewed the
material and provides the following:
• Police Department shall be notified when the City is going to shut off utilities at a
residence or a business. Recent behavior by unhappy customers have made this
necessary. Staff will email the Police Department each month.
• A Union Rep should attend the Safety Committee meetings. The Officer on duty
the day of the meetings shall attend.
• Employees should be represented on the Safety Committee. Due to the size of
our City Dawn Bittner will be the `employee representative' as she is not a
department head.
1
