Officer Jorgens has been employed with the City for almost <br /> a year more than Officer Fyle. <br /> The original intent when hiring Police Officer Jorgens was <br /> that he would proceed to step 2 after his probationary <br /> period, as this is customary. However, this did not occur as <br /> it was not specified in previous Council memos and <br /> motions and thus has caused an hourly wage differential <br /> between these two officers. <br /> Council Action Requested: Council motion authorizing a <br /> pay increase for Police Officer Matt Jorgens retroactively <br /> effective on January 1, 2015 — moving from step 1 to step 2 <br /> of the City's pay structure and paid accordingly. <br />
