City Council Minutes <br /> May 3, 2011 <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br /> THE 2012 PRELIMINARY BUDGETS. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 12.2. Police Chief Salary <br /> The Clerk noted that the Job Evaluation Committee has completed its <br /> review of the Police Chief pay based on an exempt status. It is the <br /> Committee's recommendation to increase the salary from $44,990 at step <br /> 1 to $49,857 and from $59,031 at step 12 to $65,416. She explained that <br /> this recommendation is based on using an average of 150 hours of <br /> overtime in a year. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO APPROVE THE <br /> RECOMMENDATION OF THE JOB EVALUATION COMMITTEE <br /> REGARDING THE PAY FOR THE POLICE CHIEF BASED ON AN <br /> EXEMPT STATUS. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 12.3. Verbal Update on Police Chief Search <br /> The Clerk noted that Mayor Adams and Council Member Ryan were both <br /> involved in the interview process for the Police Chief. The interview panel <br /> has narrowed down the selection to two candidates. The two candidates <br /> who will be interviewed by the Council are Eric Klang and Joshua Ebert. <br /> 12.4. Initiative Foundation Grant- Library <br /> The Mayor explained that the City has received a Valspar grant for stain <br /> and paint to refinish the outside of the library building. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ACCEPT THE INITIATIVE <br /> FOUNDATION, VALSPAR GRANT FOR STAIN AND PAINT FOR THE <br /> LIBRARY BUILDING. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 12.5. American Legion Request for Special Event Liquor Licenses <br /> The City Clerk explained that the American Legion Post is requesting four <br /> Special Event Liquor Licenses. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE SPECIAL <br /> EVENT LIQUOR LICENSES FOR THE AMERICAN LEGION AS <br />
