AGENDA ITEM #8.3 <br /> Pejittf <br /> Lakes <br /> REPORT TO <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Report Prepared by: Sergeant Chad Turcotte <br /> Date: September 1, 2015 <br /> Subject: Request to Purchase Police Cameras <br /> Report: The Police Department is expected to have <br /> functioning camera systems in patrol vehicles to document <br /> public contact. Previously the Police Department used Digital <br /> Ally camera systems for patrol vehicles and budgeted $15,000 <br /> this year for the purchase of an upgraded system that was <br /> supposed to fix all glitches in their system. The upgrade was <br /> implemented, but unfortunately the system did not work as it <br /> continued to experience problems on a monthly basis. The <br /> Police Department has returned the camera system to Digital <br /> Ally and is waiting for a refund estimate for this previously <br /> installed system. <br /> The majority of law enforcement agencies utilize either <br /> Panasonic Arbitrator or Watchguard camera systems and each <br /> have their own unique features. The Watchguard quote was <br /> estimated at $33,090 whereas the Arbitrator quote was <br /> estimated at $36,242. Both of these quotes are higher than the <br /> $15,000 budgeted for camera system upgrades in 2015. We <br />
