SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT FOR THE LIONS CLUB FOR THE CHOKECHERRY FESTIVAL ON AUGUST 8, 2015 3.9. CITY CLERK'S NOTIFICATION OF RETIREMENT EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 25, 2015. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 4. Open Forum Chuck Kargel addressed the City Council regarding recognition for his mother, Velma Kargel, as the oldest resident in Pequot Lakes. He wondered if it would be possible to re-name Oriole Street to Velma Street. Mayor Sjoblad stated that the changing of street names impacts the County 911 addressing system and this would be difficult to do. Sandy Peine indicated that a proclamation could be established in honor of Ms. Kargel. Mr. Kargel was instructed to contact City staff for follow-up. 5. Presentations 5.1. BLAEDC Presentation and 2016 Funding Sheila Haverkamp from BLAEDC thanked the City Council for their financial support and shared BLAEDC's 2014 Annual Report. Ms. Haverkamp stated that new economic opportunities will be on the horizon with the Highway 371 project. She informed the Council on their retired executives program, tech service efforts, and shared a video from their website. 5.2. Administrator Position Profile Gary Weiers from David Drown Associates reviewed the administrator search timeline with the Council and noted that this was revised to move the process along more swiftly due to the Clerk's earlier resignation. Mr. Weiers recommended that the finalist interviews with the Council be scheduled on September 8th, the day after Labor Day. This would be very extensive and it would entail the whole day. It was the consensus of the City Council to move forward with finalist interviews on September 8th. Mr. Weiers noted that the Council will receive information on the finalists a week prior to the September 8th meeting after various background checks have been completed.
