City Council Minutes <br />March 6, 2012 <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />-------------------------- <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO HIRE THE FOLLOWING <br />INDIVIDUALS AS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS EFFECTIVE MARCH <br />6, 2012. MAYOR ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />1. JUSTIN KATTERHAGEN <br />2. MATTHEW KIESELBACH <br />3. BRYANT SZMANSKI <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 3-0. <br />7.2. Acknowledqe Grant Award to Brainerd Fire Deqartment <br />Chief Nelson informed the Council that the Brainerd Fire Department has <br />been awarded a grant to purchase the 800 MHz radios. The grant will <br />require a 20% match from each fire department in the County. Chief <br />Nelson informed the Council that this will cost the fire department <br />approximately $13,000. He noted that money has been assigned for this <br />purpose in the Capital Outlay Carryover Fund. <br />8. Police Department Monthlv Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />8.1. Contract with Heartland Animal Rescue <br />Chief Klang presented the Heartland Animal Rescue Team contract for <br />Council consideration. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO APPROVE THE HEARTLAND ANIMAL <br />RESCUE TEAM CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PEQUOT <br />LAKES AND HART. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. <br />Council Member Akerson stated that the city is responsible for many fees <br />in the agreement. Mayor Adams noted that the administrative fee has <br />been reduced to $25 per dog. <br />MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br />9. Public Works <br />
