PEQUOT LAKES VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> JOB DESCRIPTIONS / REQUIREMENTS <br /> This is a general guideline of job descriptions and requirements for a Pequot Lakes Volunteer <br /> Firefighter and officers of this department. This list is not all inclusive. Job descriptions and <br /> requirements may change at any time due to state guidelines/regulations. <br /> Note: Experience on the Pequot Lakes Fire Department of 10 years or more as of December <br /> 2006 supersedes required schooling for officers. <br /> CAPTAINS— 1st,2nd,3rd <br /> Requirements <br /> • Same as basic firefighter plus the following: <br /> • Minimum of 5 years on the Pequot Lakes Fire Department <br /> • Advanced Auto Extrication class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> • Firefighter 2 certification <br /> • 1st Arriving Officer class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> • Art of Reading Smoke class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> • Fire Instructor 1 certification <br /> Job Description <br /> • Same as basic firefighter plus the following: <br /> • Reports directly to officer in charge on scene <br /> • May serve as a project team member at drills, fire prevention and other departmental <br /> operations <br /> • Adheres to a high code of conduct, displays a professional attitude and image not only <br /> while on duty but also in personal life while serving as a department officer <br /> • Conveys and transmits information verbally or in written form in a clear, concise and <br /> appropriate manner <br /> • Attends monthly officers meetings <br /> • Provides leadership, supervision and support to the firefighters during all operations <br /> Rev 5/2015 <br />
