• Knowledge of land use rules, ordinance requirements and procedures pertaining <br /> to the application approval process. <br /> • Exceptional customer service and public relations skills. <br /> • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive material. <br /> • Ability to work with frequent interruptions by phone and public visits. <br /> • Ability to use computer and related software as well as other related office <br /> equipment. <br /> • Ability to prioritize duties, work independently and problem solve. <br /> • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and maintain accurate records. <br /> • Ability to interpret aerial images, site plans, plats, and improvement plans. <br /> • Ability to work cooperatively with staff, general public, and state& local <br /> agencies. <br /> • Ability to present positive and professional image of the City. <br /> • Ability to keyboard rapidly and accurately. <br /> Minimum Qualifications: <br /> • High school diploma or equivalent. <br /> • Two year job related degree or equivalent job related experience. <br /> • Two years experience in an office setting. <br /> • Previous experience in customer service. <br /> • Valid Class D Driver's License. <br /> Preferred Qualifications: <br /> • Two years planning and zoning experience. <br /> • Ability to become a registered SSTS Inspector. <br /> • Previous experience in municipal government. <br /> • Previous experience in Microsoft Office software. <br /> Physical Job Requirements: <br /> • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. <br /> • Must be able to walk and/or climb over steep terrain. <br /> • Ability to hear and speak when conversing in person or by phone. <br /> • Ability to see and read reports, correspondence, computer screens, and other <br /> documents. <br /> • Ability to work outside, year-round, sometimes in inclement weather. <br />
