City Council Minutes <br /> April 7, 2015 <br /> Page 4 of 8 <br /> MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5- <br /> 0. <br /> MAYOR SJOBLAD MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A <br /> 2004 FORD F550 SUPERDUTY 4X4 UTILITY VEHICLE AT $75,000 TO <br /> BE FUNDED THROUGH THE FIRE DEPARMENT FUND BALANCE. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER KARR SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 8. Police Department <br /> 9. Public Works <br /> 9.1. Consider Design Proposal for Trailside Park Restrooms <br /> Mike Loven noted that the Park Commission has been studying the design <br /> and layout of a restroom to be located in Trailside Park. WSN has <br /> submitted an engineering proposal for design services for the facility at <br /> $10,600. <br /> The Clerk noted that a committee consisting of two Park Commission <br /> members, two Council Members and staff members met with WSN to <br /> discuss design options. The committee also visited a restroom in Brainerd. <br /> Mike Loven stated that the Park Commission held a special meeting on <br /> April 2nd to discuss the design of the restroom. The Commission <br /> recommended the design that was shown in the Council packets. It was <br /> the consensus of the Commission that the facility should have two stalls <br /> for women and one stall and a urinal for men. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE <br /> ENGINEERING PROPOSAL FOR THE DESIGN OF THE TRAILSIDE <br /> PARK RESTROOM AT $10,600. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> Tim Houle explained that the proposal was based on two stalls (one for <br /> women and one for men). The Park Commission is recommending four <br /> stalls (2 each). Tim Houle stated that WSN will hold to the proposal cost <br /> regardless of the number of stalls. <br /> The Council discussed the construction cost of$47,000 versus $88,000 <br /> depending on the size and number of stalls. Mike Loven reminded the <br /> Council that the Park Commission felt strongly about going with four total <br />
