City Council Minutes <br />March 4,2024 <br />Page 3 of 8 <br />Regarding workforce housing, Cory stopped in to speak on the issue. Mr. <br />Loftman said they learned a lot from him. He says they are continuing to find <br />local builders that do quality work to establish workforce housing. <br />Mr. Lottman states they are currently working with BLADEC on developing a <br />website for the EDC for marketing purposes, etc. <br />Mr. Lottman says the 371 billboard will be on their EDC agenda next month. <br />They were unable to move foruvard as they did not have a quorum at the last <br />meeting. Mayor Gardner asks whether they have a plan to work with both sides <br />of the sign. Mr. Lottman said cunently they are only working with one side but in <br />the future, they would be looking to complete and have a plan for both sides. <br />6.1 Zoninq Administrator's Monthlv Reoort <br />Report is provided for review. Mayor Gardner comments that this report is much <br />more informative than it has been previously, and he appreciates the <br />thoroughness of the reports. <br />7.Fire District Report <br />7.1 Fire District Reoort <br />Report provided. <br />Police <br />Police Department ReDort8.1 <br />Report provided <br />8.2 SRO Update <br />Chief Mike Davis says the House voted on the new wording of the bill to get it <br />back to similar wording to what it was previously, and it did pass. lt was a strong <br />majority vote. lt will now be sent to the Senate, for them to vote on it. lt is <br />anticipated it should pass there and then would go to the Govemor to sign. The <br />timeline would put it close to August before it is complete. lt is promising that we <br />will be able to put an SRO back in the school at the beginning oI lhe 202+2025 <br />school year. <br />Mayor Gardner states Officer Hopps has turned in his resignation. Chief Davis <br />updates that he desires to remain on the part{ime roster. However, we will not <br />know the status of this until he is off probation with his new employer to verify <br />their approval of his secondary employment.
