ARTICLE 8 <br />HOLIDAYS <br />8.1 All full-time employees shall receive eight (8) hours holiday pay for the following paid holidays: <br />New Year's Day <br />President's Day <br />Juneteenth <br />Labor Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Christmas Day <br />Martin Luther King Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Fourth of July <br />Veteran's Day <br />Day after Thanksgiving <br />In addition, the employee shall receive two (2) days of personal leave. The total number of hours <br />will be dependent on the regularly scheduled hours for the specific employee on that day. <br />Holidays shall be celebrated on the day that they occur. <br />Sick leave may not be used immediately before or after a holiday, unless authorized by the Police <br />Chief or designee. <br />8.2 An employee who works on, any of the above -mentioned holidays (excluding personal leave) <br />shall receive pay at one and one-half (1%) times the employee's regular straight time hourly rate <br />for all such hours worked on the holiday, plus straight time holiday pay for the employee's <br />scheduled hours worked for the holiday. If the employee does not work the holiday, the employee <br />shall receive eight (8) hours holiday pay. <br />8.3 Personal leave days shall be paid at the Employee's regular straight time wage rate. An employee <br />wishing to take a personal leave day must obtain permission from the Police Chief or designee. <br />Personal leave time may be utilized by the employee one (1) hour at a time. <br />8.4 Holiday pay if the employee does not work the holiday, shall not be considered time worked for <br />the purposes of computing overtime or compensatory time. Actual hours worked on a holiday <br />shall be considered time worked for the purposes of computing overtime or compensatory time as <br />part of the employees regularly scheduled hours. <br />8.5 All official holidays shall be considered to commence at the beginning of the first shift of the day <br />on which the holiday occurs and continue for twenty-four hours thereafter. <br />ARTICLE 9 <br />WORK SCHEDULES <br />9.1 The normal workweek shall be an average of eighty (80) hours in a two (2) week pay period. <br />9 <br />
