PEQUOT LAKES COMMUNITY LIBRARY <br />BOARD MINUTES FOR DECEMBER 12T", 2023 <br />Members Present: Scott Pederson, Ann Hutchings, Linda Olson, Mark Jurchen, Terri Grimes, <br />Stacey Paulbeck, Angie Duus, Renee Moodie, Shannon Wheeler, Faith Kimbler, and Courtney <br />Gran (Via Speaker phone). Meeting was called to order by Chair, Mark Jurchen at 4:30PM <br />Minutes of September Board Meeting: Mark indicated the minutes were distributed via email <br />prior to the meeting. He asked if there were any corrections or additions. None were noted. <br />Faith moved to approve and Terri seconded. Motion carried. <br />Financial Report: The financial statements for the previous quarter were sent via email also. <br />The board reviewed the information. Shannon moved and Faith seconded a motion to <br />approve. Motion carried. <br />Linda Olson Report: (Please refer to Linda's written report which is attached.) <br />Story Time and Summer Reading Program: (Please refer to Terri's attached written report) <br />Reading to Hudson: The program may be moved to Saturday morning due to an injury to the <br />owner of Hudson. Tentative hours would be 10:30 to 11:30AM. <br />2024 Board Members: The current board members were reviewed for the status of the terms. <br />Shannon and Stacey's terms both expire 12/31/2023. Both consented to renew their service <br />for another 3 year term. <br />2024 Budget: The Library budget for 2024 was prepared by Linda, Mark, and Stacey. It was <br />presented to the board for review and comments at the meeting. Currently the library is not on <br />the city levy and is being supported by current cash balances along with the contributions of <br />the Friends of the Library. A 2024 donation of $25,000 was announced and will be approved at <br />the Friend's Board meeting on December 13th. The budget items were discussed and Shannon <br />moved to approve with a second from Stacey. Motion carried. (A copy of the 2024 Budget is <br />attached). <br />Back Lot Master Plan: Patty Bonicatto, New Life Gardens, generously donated her time to <br />develop a master plan for the back lot. Completion will take several years and will be modified <br />to fit both the budget and current needs. Consideration for maintenance will be given and the <br />
