considering the future use of the park. The cost of a one
stall restroom is about $47,000. The cost of a two stall
restroom is approximately $88,000. The Park Commission
reviewed possible funding options.
The Commission also reviewed the design of the restroom.
It was the consensus to go with the design as shown on the
attachment.
The Commission voted to recommend that the City Council
move forward with the construction of a two stall public
restroom facility at $88,000, using the funds as stated on
the attached spreadsheet.
If the funding is used per the attached spreadsheet, there is
still a possible shortage of$14,000.
The Commission also discussed the location of the
restroom. It was a consensus of the Commission to locate
the facility at the bottom of the hill rather than at the top of
the hill next to the picnic shelter.
Council Action Requested:
1. Council motion to approve the proposal for design
services for Trailside Park Seasonal Public Restroom
Facility submitted by WSN at an estimated cost of$10,600.
2. Council decision on moving forward with the
construction of a two stall restroom at approximately
$88,000 and to determine funding options.
