MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> SAFETY COMMITTEE <br /> March 4,2015 <br /> 8:00 AM <br /> PRESENT: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Mike Loven, Public Works Supervisor and Dawn <br /> Bittner, Safety Program Administrator. <br /> ABSENT: Eric Klang, Police Chief; Tom Nelson, Fire Chief, and Greg Karr, Council <br /> Liaison. <br /> 1. Review of Minutes: <br /> ,f <br /> A motion was made by Mike Loven, seconded by Saryine, to ,prove the November <br /> 19, 2014 Minutes, as read. All members voted"aye". 'Motion carried. 2,, <br /> 2. Mock OSHA Inspection: ` <br /> The final item from the July 8, 2014 Mock OSHA Inspection, documented monthly <br /> inspection of fire extinguishers in the Police Department,has not been remedied. With <br /> no one from the Police Department in aenfce, this item be placed on the Second <br /> Quarter meeting Agenda. <br /> Damarco Solutions: <br /> Bittner explained shead listened to the webinar regarding keeping our SDS online; our <br /> Public Works Department employees do not use cell phone with the necessary capability <br /> at this time. After discus this option with Public Works Supervisor Loven, it was <br /> agreed that tht typo of record keeping is not a good fit for the City. <br /> Love ?lained that the Index for the Public Works Department SDS sheets is now <br /> complete. The old sheetsve been archived in the back of the book. It was the <br /> consensus'Of ose attending the old SDS sheets would be kept in a file in the Clerk's <br /> office to reference, if necessary. The Records Retention Policy defines how the old SDS <br /> sheets are handled;'- <br /> There will need to bean annual audit of the SDS sheets beginning in 2016 to be in <br /> compliance with the new OSHA Hazard Communication Standard. <br /> 4. Safety Committee Responsibilities: <br /> Bittner explained some safety manuals referenced duties of the Safety Committee and <br /> were not comparable. The Safety& Health Program manual and the AWAIR manual <br /> were presented with draft language in red. It was the consensus of those attending that <br /> the Safety& Health Program be corrected and the AWAIR manual be updated and <br /> brought to the Safety Committee Second Quarter meeting for a recommendation to the <br /> City Council. <br /> 1 <br />
