AGENDA ITEM # 6.4 <br /> Lakes <br /> REPORT TO <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Report Prepared by: Dawn Bittner <br /> Date: April 7, 2015 <br /> Subject: Subsurface Sewage Treatment System (SSTS) <br /> Program <br /> Report: State Statute states that new septic systems are <br /> considered compliant for five years; after Year 5 they are <br /> considered expired and require a Compliance Inspection. A <br /> Compliance Inspection is valid for 3 years and then considered <br /> expired. State Statute requires Compliance Inspections. <br /> The City Council directed the Planning Commission to <br /> develop a plan to monitor SSTS and present to the Council for <br /> review. Attached is the Policy for SSTS Compliance <br /> Inspections. The Planning Commission unanimously <br /> recommends its adoption; the City Attorney has reviewed it. <br /> Council Action Requested: Motion adopting the Policy for <br /> Subsurface Sewage Treatment System Compliance <br /> Inspections. <br />
