Resolution Supporting Dedicated State Funding for City Streets The City Clerk explained that currently cities under 5000 population do not receive state funding for city streets. The League of Minnesota Cities is supporting dedicated funding for city streets for cities with a population under 5000. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 15- 08 SUPPORTING DEDICATED FUNDING FOR CITY STREETS. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 10.4. Criminal History Background Checks The City Clerk explained that the League of Minnesota Cities recommends that cities adopt a criminal history policy to provide guidance to the police department on how to handle the criminafistory background checks. The City currently has two ordinances pertaining to criminal history background checks that are outdated. These ordinance should be repealed and replaced by a criminal history background policy. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO ADOPT THE CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECKS POLICY FOR EMPLOYMENT AND LICENSE APPLICANTS. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 15- 01 REPEALING SECTIONS OF CHAPTERS 3 AND 5 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO EMPLOYEE AND VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND AND CRIMINAL HISTORY INVESTIGATIONS. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPROVE SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE 15-01 RELATING TO EMPLOYEE AND VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND AND CRIMINAL HISTORY INVESTIGATIONS. COUNCIL MEMBER KARR SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 10.5. Vehicle Fleet Safety Policy Amendment The Clerk explained that the attached vehicle fleet policy contains two amendments.
