Resolution Supporting Dedicated State Funding for City Streets <br /> The City Clerk explained that currently cities under 5000 population do not <br /> receive state funding for city streets. The League of Minnesota Cities is <br /> supporting dedicated funding for city streets for cities with a population <br /> under 5000. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 15- <br /> 08 SUPPORTING DEDICATED FUNDING FOR CITY STREETS. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 10.4. Criminal History Background Checks <br /> The City Clerk explained that the League of Minnesota Cities recommends <br /> that cities adopt a criminal history policy to provide guidance to the police <br /> department on how to handle the criminafistory background checks. The <br /> City currently has two ordinances pertaining to criminal history background <br /> checks that are outdated. These ordinance should be repealed and <br /> replaced by a criminal history background policy. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO ADOPT THE CRIMINAL <br /> HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECKS POLICY FOR EMPLOYMENT AND <br /> LICENSE APPLICANTS. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED <br /> THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 15- <br /> 01 REPEALING SECTIONS OF CHAPTERS 3 AND 5 OF THE CITY <br /> CODE RELATING TO EMPLOYEE AND VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND <br /> AND CRIMINAL HISTORY INVESTIGATIONS.
