Ms. Duus states, other cities would choose the lowest <br />reasonable bidder. <br /> <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RONNING MOTIONED TO PUT A LIMIT OF $130,000 <br />FOR THE PROJECT AND TO CHOOSE THE LOWER OF THE TWO BIDS. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />10. Administration <br /> <br />10.1. Administration Report <br /> <br />Ms. Duus gives a status update and how things are going since taking the reins <br />of City Administrator. She says she has checking on several items. Moving <br />forward we have lots of training going on within Administration, but everyone is <br />liking where they are at. <br /> <br />10.2. Ideal Resolution to Support Grant Application <br /> <br />Discussion with Ideal Township Board Member, Ron Oman, regarding what they <br />are looking for. They will be working with Sourcewell, to secure a grant, to make <br />improvements to their transfer station. Council Member Ronning clarifies this is <br />just a letter of support and they are not asking for monetary support. Mr. Oman <br />confirms Council Member Ronning’s statement. Mr. Oman states the transfer <br />station does support our community members as well, so a letter of support <br />would be appreciated. <br /> <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RONNING MOVED TO APPROVE THE RESOLUTION <br />AND LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR IDEAL TOWNSHIP, COUNCIL MEMBER <br />PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />10.3. Authorizing City Administrator to Sign Checks and Bank Documents <br /> <br />Mayor Gardner updates that the city requires two signatures on checks. Currently <br />it is authorized for the Mayor or the Mayor Pro-Tem to sign on behalf of the city. It <br />is now requested to change the signing authorization from Mr. Spiczka to Ms. <br />Duus for signing duties for the City Administrator. <br /> <br />COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOTIONS TO AUTHORIZE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR ANGIE DUUS TO SIGN CHECKS AND BANK <br />DOCUMENTS. COUNCIL MEMBER RONNING SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />10.4. Legal Services Rate Changes <br /> <br />Discussion ensues of the rate changes for legal fees beginning in January 2024. <br />General municipal matters will increase from $180 to $195. Other matters legal <br />fees will go up generally $30. We have seen a similar increase in the past.
