PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DISTRICT <br />4638 Main Street:, Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 <br />(218) 568-8201 Fax (218) 568-7672 <br />pequotfd@pequotlakes-mn.gov <br />Maintenance <br />District personnel who use a take home vehicle are responsible for ensuring all routine <br />maintenance and upkeep is performed. Vehicles are required to be washed and <br />vacuumed regularly and kept in good working condition. <br />Command 1 <br />This take-home vehicle is assigned to the District Fire Chief. Whenever the Chief of <br />the district is out of town for more than three consecutive days, Command 1 will be <br />assigned to an Assistant Fire Chief or Captain as a take home vehicle for the purpose of <br />responding to calls. <br />The Fire Chief may use the take home vehicle for personal use while in the district <br />service area or an area in which response to emergency calls in the district is <br />reasonable and is available for response to those calls. <br />The following are prohibited from the personal use of district vehicles: <br />1. Private Enterprise (take home vehicle may be used to commute to and from a <br />place of employment as outlined in the previous paragraph but may not be used <br />directly for the operation of a business) <br />2. Hauling heavy or bulky loads <br />3. Pulling any trailer except district trailers for official use. <br />4. Any purpose, or to any place/activity that may bring embarrassment or discredit <br />to the district. <br />Utility 1 <br />This vehicle is assigned to station 1 and will be regularly housed there. The Fire Chief <br />may temporarily authorize this vehicle as an assigned vehicle to an officer or firefighter <br />to be taken home. While being used as an assigned vehicle the operator will follow all <br />requirements assigned to the Fire Chief and Command 1. This vehicle must be <br />returned to station 1 at the completion of the assignment cleaned and fueled. These <br />temporary assignments may be due to the following or similar type circumstances: <br />1. Significant or potential significant weather events or natural disasters <br />2. Extreme or high fire danger times <br />3. Typically busy times (holiday weekends or special events) <br />Adopted January 9, 2023 Page 3 of 4 <br />
