G. If a customer's utility service is disconnected, service shall be restored when the <br />customer pays the entire unpaid utility billings, plus a $50.00 <br />disconnect/reconnect fee. <br />H. If the customer's premises constitute a rental "single -metered residential <br />building" within the meaning of Minn. Stat. §504B.215, additional notice shall be <br />given to the residents of the pending disconnection by posting the building. The <br />posting shall be placed in at least one conspicuous location in or on the building <br />and provide tenants with, at a minimum, the following information: <br />(1) the date the service will be disconnected <br />(2) the telephone number to call at the utility to obtain additional information <br />(3) a brief description of the tenants' rights pursuant to Minn. Stat. §504B.215 <br />(a) a tenant has the right to continue or restore service; <br />(b) a tenant has a continuing right to pay the current charges, which do <br />not include late payment fees or reconnection fee incurred by the <br />landlord, for the most recent billing period and retain service; <br />(c) a tenant has the same amount of time provided by this Chapter <br />within which to pay the charges; <br />(d) a tenant is not subject to any deposit requirements; <br />(e) a tenant may deduct documented payments from rent obligations; <br />and <br />(f) a tenant may consider seeking assistance from legal aid, a private <br />attorney, or housing organization in exercising the rights of the <br />tenant under Minnesota Law to maintain utility service. <br />SECTION 2.
