�3) The total amount due to avoid disconnection categorized as the amount <br />past due, the amount currently due and any applicable late fees service <br />charges, interest, or penalties; <br />E. If the City does not receive payment or a demand for a hearing by the appeals <br />deadline, the City may disconnect water service If an appeal is made prior to the <br />appeal deadline, the Council shall hold a hearing on the matter no later than thirty <br />(30) days after receipt of the appeal. A notice of the date time place and <br />purpose of the hearing by the Council shall be mailed not less than ten days <br />prior to the hearing to the person who filed the appeal No action shall be taken <br />by the City to terminate the service certify to the county for collection or <br />exercise other remedies until the appeal is decided by the Council After hearing <br />the oral and written statements of the person filing the appeal other interested <br />persons and city staff, the Council shall make its decision at the same meeting or <br />at a specified fature meeting. <br />F. If a customer receives a disconnection notice and desires to make payment <br />arrangements, the property owner shall call City Hall to make such request prior <br />to the disconnection date. A one -month extension may be considered if the <br />account will be paid in full by the close of business on the last business day of the <br />fourth month. If an extension is granted but the account is not paid in full the <br />customer's utility service may be disconnected on the second business day of the <br />fifth month. <br />£G. If a customer's utility service is disconnected, service shall be restored when the <br />customer pays the entire unpaid utility billings, plus a $50.00 <br />disconnect/reconnect fee. <br />F. If the customer's premises constitute a rental "single -metered residential <br />building" within the meaning of Minn. Stat. §504B.215, additional notice shall be <br />given to the residents of the pending disconnection by posting the building. The <br />posting shall be placed in at least one conspicuous location in or on the building <br />and provide tenants with, at a minimum, the following information: <br />(1) the date the service will be disconnected <br />(2) the telephone number to call at the utility to obtain additional information <br />(3) a brief description of the tenants' rights pursuant to Minn. Stat. §50413.215 <br />(a) a tenant has the right to continue or restore service; <br />3 <br />
