Special Council Meeting Date —January (CIP and Goals) <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL <br /> COUNCIL MEETING FOR JANUARY 20, 2014 AT 6:00 P.M. TO <br /> DISCUSS THE CIP AND FUTURE GOALS. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 10.2. Preliminary Budget Review <br /> Nancy Malecha presented the revised preliminary budget. She noted that <br /> the revisions resulted in a preliminary overall levy of$1,514,093. <br /> MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO PRESENT THE REVISED PRELIMINARY <br /> BUDGETS AND LEVY AT DECEMBER COUNCIL MEETING. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 10.3. City Vehicle Policy <br /> The City Clerk reported that the City vehicle policy is outdated. Council <br /> Member Sjoblad has requested the policy to be reviewed and updated. He <br /> is also requesting that the Council authorize the Public Works Department <br /> to drive a city vehicle home, if authorized by the department supervisor or <br /> Council liaison. <br /> Council Member Akerson recommended that the maximum distance an <br /> employee should live from the City in order to drive a city vehicle home <br /> should be 6 miles rather than 15 miles. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC <br /> WORKS DEPARTMENT TO DRIVE A CITY VEHICLE HOME IF <br /> AUTHORIZED BY THE DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR OR COUNCIL <br /> LIAISON. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO DIRECT STAFF TO <br /> REVIEW AND UPDATE THE CITY'S VEHICLE POLICY. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 11. Other Business <br /> There was no other business. <br />
