COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE
MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
9.2. Engineering Services Proposal for Old Highway 371
Tim Houle provided the Council with a proposal for engineering services
for the Old Highway 371 project. He suggested that due to several
circumstances relating to funding, bonding, and the advanced timing of the
Highway 371 project the Council may want to postpone action on the
proposal at this time. The Council agreed that no action would be taken at
this time until the City has a better understanding as to the costs
associated with the Highway 371 project.
9.3. Highway 371 —Verbal Update
Tim Houle gave the following report to the Council.
MnDOT's Schedule
A year or more ago, MnDOT firmed up a 2018 date for the 4-lane Hwy 371
Improvements. Schedule-wise, to get all of the coordination with MnDOT,
the County, the MPCA, and others done, this seemed doable. Dollar-wise,
this gave the City time to continue budgeting, saving, and seeking funding
assistance. We tried during the 2014 bonding session, could try during the
2016 session, and might even had the 2018 session available.
