City Council Minutes <br /> November 12, 2014 <br /> Page 3 of 9 <br /> The City Clerk presented the Council with a resolution for adopting <br /> assessments for unpaid service charges. An assessment roll was <br /> attached to the resolution. <br /> Mayor Adams asked if there was anyone in the audience who would like <br /> to appear before the Council to contest their assessment. No one <br /> appeared before the Council. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 14- <br /> 26 ADOPTING ASSESSMENTS FOR UNPAID SERVICE CHARGES. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br /> MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 6.1. Planning Commission Report <br /> Report received by Council. <br /> 6.2. Community Growth Update <br /> The City Clerk reported that Justin Burslie of Community Growth would no <br /> longer be providing planning consultant services to the City of Pequot <br /> Lakes. She also reported that Community Growth would no longer be in <br /> existence after January 31, 2014. Clerk Peine explained that NJPA has <br /> agreed to hire a planner and would then contract the Planner services to <br /> surrounding cities. The cities of Jenkins, Crosby and Pequot Lakes have <br /> already shown interest. She presented the Council with a Letter of <br /> Understanding committing to utilize a future NJPA Planning and Zoning <br /> employee. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CLERK <br /> TO SIGN THE LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING FOR SHARED <br /> PLANNING AND ZONING SERVICES WITH NJPA. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Council Member Akerson stated his concern about entering into a three- <br /> year contract. Clerk Peine noted that she would pass his concern onto <br /> NJPA. <br /> THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> Council Member Pederson arrived at this time. He noted his concern <br /> about signing the letter of understanding because the letter was not <br /> included in the Council packet. <br />
