City of
Pequot AGENDA ITEM #7
Lakes
REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
Date: December 9, 2008
Subject: South Oak Street Project
Report: South Oak Street— By Tim Houle
A couple of years ago, the City started roadway and roadside ditching
improvements on South Oak Street.
We originally had hoped to improve the entire stretch of South Oak Street from
Brown Street (north side of the cemetery) on the north to Pillsbury Street (which
connects east to Hwy 371) on the south - and possibly down to where it
intersects Pequot Boulevard.
From Brown Street to West Lake Street, the City basically already had the
needed R/W for the roadway improvements. As you know, this segment
was improved about a couple of years ago.
From West Lake Street to Miller Street (platted R/W but no street constructed),
the City needed to acquire permanent easement or fee title R/W on the east side
of South Oak Street /the west side of the School District property to construct the
roadway improvements.
From Miller Street to Davis Street (a block north of Pillsbury), the City needed to
acquire permanent easement or fee title R/W on the east side of South Oak
Street/the west side of the Babinski property to construct the roadway
improvements.
From Davis Street to the south, the City basically already has the needed R/W
for the roadway improvements.
