PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 5, 2008 MEETING <br /> The monthly meeting of the PLFD was called to order by Chief Nelson, 31 members <br /> were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by a motion by <br /> Wendt, second by Loven, motion passed. <br /> Truck and equipment checks were discussed. The new style check lists used tonight were <br /> OK and we will keep using them. Engine 1 was all OK, but you still have to tap the blue <br /> cab light on. A relay was bad on the generator which caused power to go out during the <br /> training drill at the house burn site. Engine 2 checked all good. Engine 3 is out of service <br /> and has no hose on it. <br /> All mixed fuel cans are being eliminated and we will now use cans of pre-mixed fuel. <br /> Water tender 1 was good. Tankers 1, 2, and 3 all checked good. All gas tanks were low <br /> on tanker 2. A reminder to everyone is to sign on all fire extinguisher cards each month. <br /> Grass trucks 1 and 2 were both good. Grass#1 still has water in the tank just in case. <br /> Rescue 1 and 2 were good. Rescue 2 had an extra pike pole. The ATV and trailer were <br /> OK. We need to get the ice rescue suits loaded in the trailer. <br /> The financial report lists the fire fund balance at $83,835.74. Our checking account <br /> balance tonight is at $9860.80. During the month we paid $100.00 for the Ryan Trumble <br /> memorial, paid $160.49 for a mounting bracket for the projector, paid $66.55 for pop, <br /> paid $25.56 for food for fire prevention, and paid $8.34 for poster board supplies. The <br /> scholarship fund balance is at $1800.65. Mike Peterson motioned to approve the financial <br /> report, second by Casanova, motion passed. <br /> Jim Oraskovich addressed the members. He will not be able to attend the December 3rd <br /> meeting and this will be his last meeting tonight as he lost his election seat for Council. <br /> He told us he really appreciated coming to our meetings and trainings. He learned a lot <br /> and has always told the community what a good department we have. <br /> The safety topic for tonight is that being cold weather is coming be sure to dress <br /> appropriately. Neil will give his cold weather refresher course at next training meeting. <br /> The department would like to thank Schaefers for donating about $260.00 of food for our <br /> fire prevention open house. <br /> Narveson Management officials will meet some of our Officers for a picture to publicize <br /> their $10,000 donation to our department We will also take pictures of equipment <br /> purchased from the LAMDA donation and get their permission to publish a picture in the <br /> newspaper. <br />
