Mr. Giltner proposed to decrease the minimum <br /> gallons from 5,000 to 4,000. <br /> Tom Ryan questioned how the revenue would be affected by changing <br /> from 5,000 to 4,000 minimum gallons. Council Member Ryan questioned <br /> how much money the water and sewer funds need to stay solvent. Mr. <br /> Giltner indicated he did not believe the reduction to 4,000 gallons would <br /> generate a lot of revenue. <br /> Council Member Nagel expressed his concern with the financial condition <br /> of the water and sewer departments. Council Member Sjoblad stated that <br /> we should take a serious look at this situation and may need to look at the <br /> possibility of cutting expenses to correct the problem. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO ADOPT THE SUGGESTED <br /> RATE INCREASES FROM THE EHLERS RATE STUDY USING THE <br /> 5,000 GALLON MINIMUM RATE FOR COMMERCIAL USERS. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 5. Open Forum <br /> No one appeared for Open Forum. <br /> 6.1. Insurance Renewal <br /> Mark Jurchen presented the City's insurance renewal information. He <br /> discussed the waiver in statutory tort limits, the increase in statutory limits <br /> and gave an analysis of the rates and dividends. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO NOT WAIVE THE MONETARY <br /> LIMITS ON MUNICIPAL TORT LIABILITY ESTABLISHED BY <br /> MINNESOTA STATUTES 466.04. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> Mr. Jurchen reviewed the trends on rates and dividends. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO CONTINUE TO USE <br /> LAKELAND AGENCY AS THE CITY'S INSURANCE AGENCY FOR <br /> 2009.
