adoption need not use their accrued sick leave or vacation during the <br /> first six weeks of their leave if they choose not to. <br /> Employees may use accrued vacation if they so choose, after their <br /> sick leave accrued is exhausted. When sick leave and compensatory <br /> time have been exhausted, any remaining time will be unpaid except <br /> for vacation requested by the employee. <br /> Holidays <br /> 1. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be <br /> the "observed" holiday and when a holiday falls on a Saturday, the <br /> preceding Friday shall be the "observed" holiday for City <br /> operations/facilities that are closed on holidays. <br /> 5.
