Regular Part-Time Employees: Regular part-time employees shall <br /> earn vacation leave with pay at the rate listed for regular full-time <br /> employees; however the rate shall be based on the percentage of time <br /> actually worked. For example: if a part time employee worked an average of <br /> thirty (30) hours per week during the calendar year, they would be credited <br /> with 75% (30/40) of the posted vacation credits. <br /> 3. When Taken: Vacation leave may be used as earned, subject to <br /> approval by the department head or the City Council liaisons regarding the <br /> time at which it may be taken. The City Council liaisons and department <br /> heads shall make reasonable efforts to schedule vacations greater than a five <br /> day period requested by employees, provided that two weeks advance notice <br /> is given. Vacation periods shall be set by the department heads and in cases <br /> of no department heads by the City Council liaison, with due regard to the <br /> seniority of the employee, the preferences of the employee and the need for <br /> efficient and uninterrupted operation of the department and with due regard <br /> for critical periods for the employee or his/her department, provided that the <br /> 13 <br />
