Park Commission Minutes <br /> November 4, 2021 <br /> Page 2 <br /> 6. Santa's Bobbin' into Town Float <br /> Steve Melby stated that he has the trailer and that any half ton can pull it. Mr. <br /> Melby stated that depending on the weather he may be able to us his truck and <br /> Kent Johnson offered his truck if needed. Dave stated that he has a generator <br /> that can be used. The Commission discussed the need more lights and trees <br /> because they donated one from last year to a family. It was suggested that they <br /> should look at real trees because there seems to be a shortage of artificial ones. <br /> Discussion ensued on where to get trees. The Commission reminded each other <br /> that they will be decorating on December 9th since the parade is on the 11th. Jeff <br /> Boucher said he will get the design together and run the lights. Discussion <br /> ensued about benches and Carolers, and they would like to try to get the <br /> Carolers again. Jenny will call about the Carolers and she suggested getting the <br /> high school choir but Kim Churack said they are difficult to get. Ms. Churack <br /> stated the line up on parade is on Front Street and explained the route. She also <br /> stated that line up starts at 5:45. Discussion ensued about decorating the float, <br /> purchasing candy and that there could be some trees at Habitat for Humanity. <br /> 7. Park Commission Vacancy <br /> The Park Commission welcomed their new member Rick Moeller to the group. <br /> Mr. Moeller introduced himself, he has been in the area for 7 years. He was on 4 <br /> commissions and worked for the City of Robbinsdale for 30 years. He is a <br /> substitute at the school district and it doesn't keep him busy enough so he was <br /> looking for more to do in the area. He said he is looking forward to being on the <br /> Park Board. <br /> Jennifer Peterson stated that she will be sending out letters to reapply to the Park <br /> Board to Kim Churack and Jeff Boucher since their terms are ending and she <br /> hopes that they reapply. <br /> 8. Next Meeting Date Change— December 9, 2021 <br /> Chair Johnson stated the meeting has changed for parade to decorate the float. <br /> 9. Other Business <br /> 9.1 Splash Pad <br /> Ms. Peterson informed the Commission that the City Council approved the <br /> Splash pad to be built in the spring of 2022 if there are enough non-levy funds <br /> available to build it. Ms. Peterson introduced Jennifer Gonczy to the Park <br /> Commission and stated that she has been actively involved with the project. <br />
