Mr. Jurchen asked for the EDC <br /> Commissions consensus to invite the contractors to the May meeting. He <br /> suggested having about 35 contractors who could be contacted. <br /> Mr. Jurchen discussed areas and lots in the city that could potentially be <br /> redeveloped. He explained the lot sizes, tax base and potential housing <br /> that could be put on these lots. He discussed contacting property owners <br /> about selling or developing these lots. Discussion ensued about <br /> development of Trailside Estates. Mr. Jurchen suggested publishing <br /> information in the paper and using social media about the housing need in <br /> the City. Discussion ensued about housing shortage and HUD housing at <br /> the school. <br /> The EDC Commission discussed inviting contractors to May's meeting. <br /> Council Member Scott Pederson asked if the City Council has been <br /> informed of this information yet and Commissioner Lelwica and Chair <br /> Lottman explained this is still in the planning stage and once the <br /> commission has more concrete information they will bring it to the Council. <br /> Discussion ensued about contacting contractors for the May meeting. <br /> 7. 2022 Project Goals <br /> Chair Lottman reminded the commission of the goal to submit six things to <br /> City Council and that it is April and they have not presented anything yet. <br /> Council Member Pederson stated the Council is open to ideas and <br /> potentially updating ordinances. <br /> 8. BLAEDC Update <br /> No update given. <br /> 8.A. Destination Downtown <br /> No update given. <br /> 9. City of Jenkins Update <br /> Jon Lubke stated on April 21st they are doing a community social and one of their <br /> Council Members takes the lead on that. He said they are working with Region <br /> Five for and energy grant. He stated they were also able to get money through <br /> Sourcewell. He stated they are looking to do several community projects which <br /> includes sponsoring a spring cleanup and energy projects for the park. <br /> Commissioner Lubke also stated that they are working with Jenkins township and <br /> Ideal township to do a buildout of their broadband and putting out a RFP. He <br /> stated the County is willing to use ARPA funds for this project. <br /> 10. Other Business <br /> Mr. Jurchen gave an update about the Library smart room and the use of ARPA <br /> funds. He stated on May 17t'they will have a joint meeting with the Friends of the <br /> Library about the smart room and equipment that they will potential include in the <br />
