MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> TUESDAY,APRIL 19, 2022 <br /> Members Present: Chair Lottman Commissioners Becklin, Hallan, Holley, Lelwica, <br /> Lubke, and Rieck <br /> Members Absent: <br /> Others Present: Angie Duus, City Clerk/Treasurer; Scott Pederson, Council <br /> Member; Kurt Stumpf, PLSD Superintendent; Mark Jurchen <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Lottman at 8:00 a.m. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> COMMISSIONER RIECK MOVED TO TABLE 8. BLAEDC UPDATE AND 8.A. <br /> DESTINATION DOWNTOWN TO THE MAY 17TH EDC MEETING. <br /> COMMISSIONER REICK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 3. Approve EDC Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER REICK MOVED TO APPROVE THE MARCH 15, 2022 <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MINUTES AS PRESENTED. <br /> COMMISSIONER HALLAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 4. School Update <br /> Kurt Stumpf stated that the facility is still in the works and they are hoping <br /> to get started in the next couple weeks. He stated they hope to be done <br /> around November and that ICS was selected as the firm and ATS&R is the <br /> architect and engineering firm. Mr. Stumpf also stated they are seeing good <br /> Kindergarten registration numbers and Early Childhood registration just <br /> went out and they will be monitoring that as well. Discussion ensued about <br /> potential updates to Patriot Avenue and walking traffic. Mr. Stumpf <br /> informed the commission a Safe Routes to School planning grant for <br /> $15,000 was received by the school. <br /> 5. Chamber Update <br /> No update given. <br /> 6. Workforce Housing Update <br /> Mark Jurchen stated he is starting to pull together a list of contractors and <br /> reminded the commission they talked about inviting them to the meeting in <br /> May. He wants to make sure they are licensed and they do not want <br /> anyone that is marginal. He asked the commissioners to contact him if he <br /> knew of any other contractors that were not on the list or if anyone has <br /> email addresses for any of the contractors on the current list to let him <br />
