City Council Minutes <br /> April 3, 2023 <br /> Page 9 of 10 <br /> marketing of it was the city would be providing facilities, stormwater pond and <br /> storm sewer pipe for handling half of the stormwater runoff and the other half <br /> would be handled by the developer but going step by step they don't know what <br /> that half is. He said there is some big time guessing and they might have to dig <br /> out that existing stormwater pond that was in that first phase a little bit more, but <br /> that is part of the analysis they are going to do. He said they can still extend <br /> gravity sewer and the water main is under pressure but in the future the city may <br /> have to look at a loop for the water since you can only go so far with the dead <br /> end. He said their proposal includes working with the construction contractor. He <br /> said they are bringing to the Council now so they can get going with a design and <br /> get public bids sooner than later that way the proposed apartment will know <br /> where they need to run the sanitary sewer out to and where they are connecting. <br /> Discussion ensued about costs and the challenge with doing this step by step. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO APPROVE WIDSETH'S <br /> PROPOSAL FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES AND TENTATIVE SCHEDULE <br /> FOR LARSEN PARKWAY FOR$90,000. COUNCIL MEMBER CLEMENT <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 9.4 Resolution Approving City Impact Funds Application <br /> Rich Spiczka said Sourcewell currently has $600,000 available for grants with <br /> $50,000 being the max an entity can get. He said he talked to the City Planner <br /> and the City Hall renovation fits the grant requirements but the city needs to pass <br /> a resolution to apply for the grant. He stated the deadline to apply is April 30, <br /> 2023. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RONNING MOVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 23-11 <br /> TO SEEK COMMUNITY IMPACT FUNDS THROUGH SOURCEWELL FOR <br /> THE CITY HALL REMODEL TO MOVE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> DOWNSTAIRS. COUNCIL MEMBER CLEMENT SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 10. Administration <br /> 10.1. Closed Session in accordance with Minn.Stat. sec. 13D.05, subd. 3(a)for the <br /> evaluation of the performance of Kate Peterson as a City of Pequot Lakes <br /> employee. <br /> Mayor Gardner announced that this agenda item is for evaluation of <br /> the performance of a City of Pequot Lakes employee under Minnesota <br /> Statutes, section 13D.05, subdivision 3, clause a. He stated the <br /> employee is Kate Petersen and Ms. Petersen received written notice <br /> of this meeting. <br /> Mayor Gardner further noted that only the officials and consultants of <br /> the City who reasonably require access to this data may be in <br /> attendance at any portion of the closed meeting for this agenda item. <br />
