Street Light Installation <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 08-37, A <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF A STREET LIGHT <br /> AT THE INTERSECTION OF BROWN STREET AND SOUTH OAK <br /> STREET. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 12. Engineering <br /> South Oak Street Project <br /> Mike Rude explained that the school building and grounds committee has <br /> reviewed the South Oak Street Project proposal and were going to <br /> approve the agreement but have recently added on a sign as part of the <br /> agreement. The sign the school is referring to is prohibited under the <br /> ordinance and the City does not own the land where the school is <br /> proposing to place the sign. <br /> The Council discussed the idea of the City making a commitment to <br /> supporting the effort. Discussion was also held regarding the possibility of <br /> setting a precedent by allowing the school to have a non-conforming sign. <br /> It was noted that this issue should go to the Planning Commission for <br /> review. <br /> Mike Rude noted that the Council recently approved the agreement <br /> between the City and the School pending School board approval. He <br /> stated that the City is under a tight timeline to move the project forward in <br /> 2009. He asked the Council if it wants to link the school's request for a <br /> sign to the South Oak Project as this could prolong the project. It was the <br /> consensus of the Council to keep the two issues separate. The Council <br /> discussed the idea of the City assisting the school in looking into the sign <br /> issue. It was the consensus of the Council to have Council Member <br /> Oraskovich discuss this issue with the school superintendent. <br /> Babinski <br /> Mike Rude noted that Tim Houle has reviewed the agreement with Mr. <br /> ``.
