August 27,2008 SIMITH
NOLTING
Mr. Rick Linnell
Superintendent of Schools,ISD 186
30805 Olson Street
Pequot Lakes,MN 56472
RE: South Oak Street
Pequot Lakes,MN
WSN Job No. 0130B0037
Mr. Linnell:
This is a follow-up to several previous meetings between representatives of the City and the
School District regarding the City's planned 2009 South Oak Street improvements.
Enclosed is an 11"x 17"drawing showing the general proposed improvements along the Schools
west and south property adjacent to South Oak Street. We previously had presented a stormwater
infiltration basin between South Oak Street and the School's ball fields. That previous basin was
shorter in a north—south direction and the request was to extend it further to the north to try and
minimize the east-west width. We have done so on the attached 11"x 17"and have decreased the
width by about 10 feet.
The City proposes the following:
1. The City will pay for all survey, easement description, and corresponding legal costs to
describe, acquire, and record a permanent easement from the School District to the City for
the roadway, roadside ditch, and storm drainage infiltration basin areas along the west side of
the School's property from about West Lake Street down to the School's south property line
at about the platted Miller Street(not constructed as a street, just platted).
2. The City will pay for salvaging and relocating the existing fencing along the western side of
the School's property in this project area.If any of it is damaged during this operation, the
City will pay for new fencing to replace just the damaged portions. If the School wants to
have all new fencing, they will be responsible for the cost difference.
3. For the northwest and southwest ball diamonds, the City agrees to pay for reasonable costs
associated with salvaging and relocating the existing backstops, salvaging and relocating the
existing irrigation systems,relocating the"agri-lime"infields,relocating the bases,and re-
seeding areas disturbed by construction. If any of the backstop or irrigation system is
damaged during these operations, the City will pay for new replacement materials just for the
J:\0130B-City of Pequot Lake30130B0037--South Oak St-W Lake to Millek0130B0037.000South Oak St
Improvement.§Correspondenc420080827-Mr Linnell at Schooldraft agreement for ROWltr.doc
7804 Industrial Park Road • PO Box 2720 • Baxter,MN 56425-2720 • TEL:218.829.5117 • FAX:218.829.2517 • WEB:www.wsn-mn.com
CAI/IAICCDIAI/" ADP'LJITC/`TIIAC I ARIA C11n\ICVIAI,• CAI\/1n P\AIilrA1TA I Crn\,1P`I-C
