• On the 22nd, it was discovered that chlorine was leaking from an unknown source, and
was shut-down until a service tech from Larsco could evaluate the cause. It was
discovered that one of two regulators had failed. Since the age of the regulator was
prohibitive for rebuilding with no warranty, a new, more reliable regulator was ordered
that has a 3 yr. warranty.
• As of September 10th, all but 14 curb stops have been located and extensions put on
where needed.
• Spoke with Scott Warner from Pine River to continue our mutual aid agreement, as it
has been working out fine.
• 18 work orders completed and 21 locates received
WASTEWATER
I. Facility Performance:
a. CBOD Concentration
Influent— mg/1 (Design—250 mg/1)
b. TSS Concentration
Influent— mg/1 (No Design Listed)
c. Effluent Fecal Coliform Geometric Mean— colonies/100 ml
Permit Condition—200 organims/100 ml
d. Flow- Average Daily Flow— 57,793 gallons (Design—121,795 gal/day)
Maximum Daily Flow— 80,454 gallons
Minimum Daily Flow—33,396 gallons
Total Monthly Flow— 1,676,000 gallons (as of the 29th)
II. Operations and Maintenance:
• The monthly MPCA Discharge Monitoring Report was completed and submitted as
required.
• Inspected sewer hook-up at Cole Memorial Building. Contractor used existing riser
from main to connect to.
• Two of three lateral air leaks on the primary pond have been repaired and are working
properly. Attempts to repair the air leaks on the third lateral will be dependent on
repairing the slide gate valves and if weather permits.
• In transferring water from the secondary pond to the primary pond so that the slide gate
valve that has failed can be repaired, it was also discovered that the other slide gate
holding back the water is also leaking. Another vendor was contacted to evaluate the
manholes and this newest problem. Because both slide gate valves have failed, a plan is
being implemented as how to repair them one at a time. Our suspicions' for failure is
due to ice damaging these during the winter months.
• In continuing efforts to upgrade her knowledge in the wastewater field, congratulations
go out to Tina for passing the class "C"wastewater exam.
\..
