Our air packs have been flow tested and one failed the test. We have 14 air packs in
<br /> operation now. We are not eligible for any grant being we have 14 masks. We will have
<br /> to wait for a while before we can finance new ones. We did not change the lockset on our
<br /> office door because other city employees use that door for entry. There are several ways
<br /> to get in to the fire office and garage now by using your key, a key lock box, or a number
<br /> code key pad.
<br /> The Officers decided to use the $10,000 Narveson donation to purchase a new rescue tool
<br /> cutter with 7 '/4"tips for $5000.00, a new roof cutting chainsaw for$2000.00, and the
<br /> remaining $3000.00 will be used for fire gear.
<br /> New fire fighter interviews will be Monday, September 8th at 6:00 pm in the training
<br /> room.
<br /> Fire prevention for the elementary school will be Tuesday, October 7. Times will be
<br /> announced later. We plan an open house for Wednesday, October 8th at the fire hall
<br /> starting at 4:00 pm. We need six teams of two fire fighters for fire prevention. Wendt,
<br /> Rickard, Hayes, Wasserbauer, Nelson, Peterson I, Oaks, Szymanski, Tasha Carlson, and
<br /> Nordby volunteered.
<br /> There is a RIT training at Crosslake on September 20th at 9:00 am.
<br /> Chief Nelson would like to form a feasibility truck committee to decide what to do with
<br /> our trucks and what we really will need for the future. Any new purchases will not take
<br /> place in the near future.
<br /> There will be a group photo taken at next the next training meeting on September 17th.
<br /> When responding to fire in Cass County, we should switch to Cass fire frequency and
<br /> talk directly to Walker for instructions.
<br /> Bill brought the idea to purchase a"Rescue Randy" for training. Randy is a mannequin
<br /> that weighs 175 pounds and is life size. Oaks motioned to purchase it for $1000.00,
<br /> second by Wasserbauer, motion passed with Loven and Larson voting no.
<br /> We need 3 new nozzles to complete Engine 1 and 2. Nordby motioned to purchase them,
<br /> second by Zeimet, motion passed. The cost will be about $1600.00. Chokecherry
<br /> breakfast profits will be used for the purchase.
