Safe and Sober Resolution <br /> Josh Gartner informed the Council that the Safe and Sober resolution is similar to <br /> prior years. The City of Brainerd is the head agency. The City of Pequot Lakes is <br /> responsible for submitting log sheets to the head agency for reimbursement. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 08- <br /> 31 AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR THE SAFE <br /> AND SOBER COMMUNITIES PROJECT. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 10. City Clerk's Report <br /> Report received by Council. <br /> 10.1. 2009 Budget Amendments <br /> Nancy Malecha explained the budget changes made to lower the 2009 preliminary <br /> levy to $1,482,800 which is an increase of 1.67% from the 2008 levy. It was the <br /> consensus of the council to move forward and present this information at the <br /> Truth in Taxation meeting in December. Ms. Malecha stated that the tax rate <br /> information will be presented to the Council at the November meeting. <br /> 10.2. Audit Quotes <br /> Nancy Malecha noted that quotes were received from Kern Dewenter Viere, <br /> LarsonAllen, and Miller McDonald for the 2008 audit. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO ACCEPT THE THREE YEAR <br /> ALTERNATIVE AUDIT SERVICES PROPOSAL FROM LARSONALLEN <br /> AT A COST OF $21,000 FOR THE 2008 AUDIT, $21,420 FOR THE 2009 <br /> AUDIT,AND $21,900 FOR THE 2010 AUDIT. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 10.3. Resignations of HRA Employees <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO ACCEPT,WITH <br /> REGRET, THE RESIGNATIONS OF SHARON THURLOW, HRA <br /> EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1,2009,AND JIM <br /> THURLOW,HRA MAINTENANCE CARETAKER EFFECTIVE <br /> `.- JANUARY 1,2009. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />
