City Council Minutes <br /> August 5, 2008 <br /> Page 2 of 10 <br /> 3.5. RESOLUTION 08-22 ACCEPTING DONATIONS <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 4. Open Forum <br /> 5.1. Sheriff Dahl - Update <br /> Sheriff Dahl <br /> 5.2. Jenkins Township Annexation — Discussion with City of Jenkins Mayor <br /> Jon Lubke, Mayor of the City of Jenkins, addressed the Council regarding <br /> the City of Jenkins desire to be involved with the annexation efforts <br /> between Pequot Lakes and Jenkins Township. Mayor Malecha noted that <br /> it is not the City of Pequot Lakes' position to invite the City of Jenkins to <br /> the table to discuss the annexation. She stated that this should be done by <br /> Jenkins Township Board. Mayor Lubke indicated that the Comprehensive <br /> plan for Jenkins Township states that the City of Jenkins should be <br /> included in discussions of annexation. <br /> Mayor Lubke noted that Jenkins Township has not invited the City of <br /> Jenkins to be involved with the annexation issue. He indicated that he <br /> does not want this to be a contested matter with the State; however, if the <br /> City of Jenkins is excluded from discussions the City will pursue the issue <br /> with the State Board of Planning. He further noted that the City of Jenkins <br /> is determined to do everything possible to be included in the annexation <br /> discussions. Mayor Lubke requested the City of Pequot Lakes not to move <br /> forward with any further annexation discussions with Jenkins Township. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO INVITE THE CITY OF JENKINS <br /> TO THE AUGUST 13TH ANNEXATION WORKSHOP TO BE HELD WITH <br /> JENKINS TOWNSHIP BOARD AND TO EXPLORE SOME <br /> ALTERNATIVES TO THE ANNEXATION PROCESS. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 6. Planning and Zoning Report <br /> Report received by Council. <br /> 6.1. Ordinance Amendment to Chapter 17 of the City Code Regarding <br /> Industrial Zone <br />
