City of <br /> Pequot <br /> Lakes <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br /> FROM: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> DATE: AUGUST 20,2008 <br /> SUBJECT: FACILITY PLAN <br /> On June 17, 2008, The Economic Development Commission made the following <br /> motion and presented the motion to the City Council: <br /> MARK JURCHEN MOVED TO RECOMMEND A FUTURE EXPANSION OF <br /> THE INDUSTRIAL PARK INTO PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY <br /> CURRENTLY USED FOR SPRAY IRRIGATION AND IDENTIFIED AS <br /> NUMBERS 9, 10, 11,AND 12 ON THE INDUSTRIAL PARK PROPERTY <br /> EVALUATION MAP TITLED "CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES" PROVIDED BY <br /> CHUCK MAROHN AND TO RECOMMEND THAT THE COUNCIL MOVE <br /> �.- FORWARD WITH A FACILITIES PLAN TO STUDY THE FUTURE <br /> EXPANSION OF THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM.JUSTIN <br /> BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> On August 19, 2008, the Economic Development Commission discussed the <br /> issue of moving forward with a facilities plan once again. See excerpt of minutes: <br /> Excerpt from August 19, 2008 Minutes <br /> Chair Larsen noted that he gave the Council an update on the Commission's <br /> study of the expansion of the industrial park and the need for a facilities plan <br /> study. The Clerk noted that the facilities plan is in the 2009 preliminary <br /> budget. She also noted that some of the Council has concerns regarding the <br /> necessity and timing of the facilities plan. The Commission discussed the <br /> need for the plan. It was the consensus of the Commission to convey to the <br /> Council the need for the study. The Commission stated the following reasons <br /> for completing the facility plan in 2009. <br /> 1).
