City Council Minutes <br /> September 22, 2008 <br /> Page 3 of 3 <br /> Township residents not to be represented by their board. He indicated <br /> that Pequot Lakes has prided itself on reflecting the will of the <br /> majority in whatever the situation would be. <br /> Council Member Ryan stated that he feels the costs to provide services <br /> would triple in three years. Council Member Sjoblad talked about the <br /> consequences for Jenkins Township if the City of Pequot denies the <br /> annexation. <br /> Council Member Nagel stated he would be in favor of creating a three- <br /> way agreement to not annex at this point but to continue discussions <br /> and to cooperate amongst each other and annually revisit the question <br /> of annexation. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad stated he would like to hear from the <br /> opposition as to why they do not want the annexation. <br /> Bill Savage (Township Resident) indicated that he has requested to be <br /> on the Council agenda in October to discuss the issue. The Clerk noted <br /> that she had informed Bill that he could have two people speak for the <br /> group. <br /> Council Member Oraskovich indicated that he would like to make a <br /> decision on the annexation. Council Members Nagel and Sjoblad and <br /> Mayor Malecha noted that they would also like to make a decision. The <br /> Mayor noted that this issue would be on the October agenda. <br /> 2. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL <br /> MOVED TO ADJOURN. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION.
