City Council Minutes <br />February 5, 2013 <br />Page 3 of 7 <br />Council Member Pederson questioned if amenities included in the <br />comprehensive plan update are automatic. Mr. Marohn stated that the <br />comprehensive plan is a guidance document and does not carry the force <br />of law. <br />Council Member Gardner questioned if the comprehensive plan is a four <br />year plan. Mr. Marohn stated that the comprehensive plan should be kept <br />current and it is generally reviewed every 4 -5 years. Mayor Adams stated <br />that an in depth review should be done every 10 years. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT THE <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Council Member Akerson questioned why the entrance /gateway to Pequot <br />was not addressed. Mr. Marohn stated that the gateway is not defined <br />because there is a lot of work involved in this. <br />MOTION CARRIED 4 -1. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON OPPOSED. <br />6.2. Preliminary and Final Plat for SuperValu <br />Chuck Marohn stated that the paperwork has been received from <br />SuperValu and no action is needed at this time. <br />7.1. Fire Board Meeting Minutes <br />The January 23, 2013 Fire Board Meeting minutes were received by <br />Council. Council Member Akerson questioned if the fire department is <br />planning to hire additional firefighters with the resignation of Dan Cerise <br />and the leave of absence of Kate Petersen. Council Member Sjoblad <br />stated that the fire department has the strength they need right now and <br />they do not plan to hire additional firefighters at this time. <br />8. Police <br />The 2012 Annual Report was received by Council. <br />9.1. Reassignment of Funds <br />Mike Loven clarified the information presented in the council packet. Mr. <br />Loven is requesting to reassign $110,000 from the 2012 roads and streets <br />capital outlay to the 2013 roads and streets capital outlay carryover fund. <br />
