ANNEXATION COMMITTEE <br /> ANNEXATION MEETING—JUNE 27, 2008 <br /> PRSENT: Cathy Malecha, Dave Sjoblad, Patti Bullen, Sharon Thurlow, Tom <br /> Fitzpatrack, Paul Sandelin, Dawn Bittner, Sandy Peine <br /> Draft resolution reviewed by those present. <br /> Issues discussed: <br /> • Pequot Lakes zoning/Jenkins Township zoning(differences) <br /> • Audit of Jenkins Township books—Consensus that a review of the books can be <br /> done by Nancy Malecha <br /> • Storm Water Management Utility discussed— Sandy to send Tom F. a copy of the <br /> City's ordinance <br /> • Impact of tax differential on Township residents—Tom F. to run some sample <br /> comparative tax rates on Jenkins Township properties (Current 9% tax rate—To <br /> change to 20% at time of annexation and then gradually increase to the City's <br /> rural tax rate within 5 years) <br /> • Impact of Annexation on the City of Pequot Lakes—Patti B. to send info on past <br /> road costs and planning and zoning permits issued <br /> • It was the consensus of those present that the Attorney's would sent a joint letter <br /> of intent to the State Planning Board indicating that Jenkins Township Board is <br /> requesting a friendly annexation to the City of Pequot Lakes <br /> • Schedule an informational hearing to review the draft resolution with Jenkins <br /> Township Board and the City of Pequot Lakes (this would be a special meeting— <br /> Sandy will schedule this with the Council and inform Jenkins Township as soon <br /> as the date is decided) <br />
