City Council Minutes <br />August 19,2014 <br />Page 3 of4 <br />streets capital outlay budget continues to get cut, the City will not be able <br />to keep up with the maintenance and upgrading of roads. He stated that <br />the City should consider bonding for the road and street projects. The <br />Clerk noted that the City will be having Springsted present at a Council <br />meeting to talk about its capital improvement plan and timing of bonding <br />for some of the projects. Council Member Sjoblad suggested having <br />Springsted to an earlier Council meeting. <br />Park - Mike Loven stated that he has made some cuts to the park budget <br />to reduce it as requested by the Council, He noted that the restroom <br />planned for Trailside Park has been reduced from two stalls to one stall. <br />The Council discussed the issue and felt that a two stall restroom would <br />be best. <br />lnsurance - Nan cy Malecha noted that the City's rates are increasing due <br />to the increase in loss ratio. She noted that she will have a more accurate <br />number for the Council in November. <br />Recvclinq - No Change <br />F¡re_- No change <br />Hiqhwav 371 - Council Member Sjoblad suggested not levying for this <br />fund this year as it is anticipated that the City will be bonding for the <br />project in the future. Council Member Pederson suggested keeping it in <br />the preliminary levy. Council Member Pederson also suggested <br />reallocating the Highway 371 funds for the Old Highway 371 project. <br />Water - No changes. The Mayor stated that a rate study should be added <br />to the capital improvement plan. <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to make no changes to the <br />budget for the budget presented for the preliminary levy. <br />13. Adjournfn_ent <br />There being no further business COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED <br />TO ADJOURN. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE <br />MOTION.
